I took the advice of the beta board people and we have generic Speak and R&W cards for common and dead languages. These will fill in a niche in the game cards. They are not exciting cards, but they do expand the games flexibility and ability of GM's to create a world of their liking.

I am surprised that we have no comments on the thievery cards. These are again cards which expand an aspect of the game rounding out some specifics we did not get to earlier.

Happily for us Sue has gotten a good load of artwork jobs this winter, but it leaves me, for the moment, looking for cards that she can do quick simple artwork for.

So, the new marketplace is now up and running. I have plans for adding a commentary on many of the deluxe cards. The template for that idea comes up on the VAL 023 card. Now that I have these I want to go through and make some special lists of cards like Boons, Backgrounds, Characters, Weapons etc. In lists of there own. Well, at least I've got something to do this year.....

I am also happy with having different blogs for different types of comments. You can access Sue's Art Blog, My Blog , Mark's Mysteries Blog and the DS Beta Blog through the link for “Our Blogs” on the DS main page.

What is not finished are the pictures. It was slowing me down too much to try to do both at one time. The pics now end at universal 20. I'll be slowly getting more pics up. Right now if you click on a pick you get an error message. Most of my time right now is trying to get set for Sue's Con trip, so I will be my usual slow self.

When you register to GM a Dragon Storm Game, add a comment with your times and levels. That will allow other GM's to work around what is happening and allow you guys to crudely co-ordinate games. We have had a shortage of Mid to Low level games at recent cons, so keep an eye out for those!

If people are going to order on line, then send the cards etc. it needs to be up early. By the end of January the on-line buying of Valentines will be about done. Anyway, here are the pics I used. If you have a Valentine to buy for, we would appreciate you buying from Sue. Thanks.
The Cafepress Valentines Items

January 9, 2008 Good Morning All

I have started on some maintenance of the DS Beta Blog. I have added another proposed Phoenix card (The sixteenth one). The selection would make a full ready to go character right out of the gate. As this character is different from what you are used to take another look and make comments on the new concepts. I'm still looking for a better name than “Protect the Precious”, see what you can think of.

The reason the character seems so different is that I had initially designed it to be used in a different game than DS, but using the same system. The point system I used in those tests was different (much simpler) than the DS system, so my point cost may be off on these.

I have also changed the blog settings to list up to 100 entries on the first page. That means no second page to look up the older beta card entries.

After adding the new Phoenix card I pulled down the cards that I am sending back into the pool for reconsideration at a later date. Those would be Culture Savvy, Elethay Knowledge, and most of the elf cards.

In the next few hours I will also be pulling the beta cards that are being sent on to Sue for artwork and on to be cards. They are Unarmed Mastery (sorry, no Duel Weapons), spear master, mentor, Forage, Wisdom of the ages, Ebony Elf Character and the Dryad Character (may only have one Flash Dance)

Thanks for the comments! Your card ideas are looking good. The Phoenix itself is different than prior characters, but it looks like we will be able to release a good set of cards for it that gives a well rounded full character set right up front. I'm thinking summer release for the entire character.
